As a business owner or manager, there are simple ways you can integrate positive reviews into your marketing strategy. Here are five quick tips:
1. Offer special promotions: When you come across new customers, ask how they heard about your business. For customers who say they read a great online review, offer them a discount or free item. This generous gesture along with your amazing customer service, can help increase sales and ensure the positive reviews keep coming.
2. Add a review site widget: Many of the most popular review sites have widgets that allow you to display your reviews on your website. A widget is a small application which can be placed on a webpage and is created by embedding a small piece of code, provided by your preferred review site, into your website management platform. Widgets offer a fantastic way for you to display your “social proof” directly on your website.
3. Share your reviews: If your business is active on popular social media such as Twitter and Facebook, then you should share those positive reviews and testimonials for your fans and followers to see. If you are regularly conversing with your customers online then it’s fine to share links of your latest positive review. Make sure you only do so once or twice a week to avoid being too promotional. 4. Use reviews as testimonials: Including positive reviews in your newsletters showcases your hard work and excellent customer service. Consider including reviews in other marketing materials, such as brochures and blogs. If you wish to include names with the testimonies, ask permission from the user first. You may find it easier to say something like, “Over 50 positive reviews and five stars on Yelp” to sum up your social proof.
5. Thank You email: After receiving a positive review, email a thank you note or letter to the customer who took the time to critique your business (most user review sites have a way you can communicate with customers directly). Those that use their valuable free time to write a positive review are true fans. In your note encourage them to refer your business to their friends.
