Marketing Guru is Passionate About Her Community

Loran Tripp is known throughout Central Pasco and North Hillsborough for her involvement with local charities and events. She’s now turned her attention toward helping others get their marketing off the ground.

Loran Tripp has a bit of a gypsy soul—and the heart of a Nole.

The longtime Land O’ Lakes resident and partner of Lab3 Marketing has left her footprints all over the world, as well as her mark on the local community.

“I have a passion for traveling and have been extremely fortunate to have traveled in South America, Africa, Central America, Europe, and most of North America,” Tripp said.

But it’s the people and the causes in her own hometown that Tripp holds closest to her heart.

“It’s amazing to me what opportunities lie within the local environment and the people who you can meet. It gives me great faith in humanity to watch people give back their time, energy, and money to charities and the organizations they are involved in. I am a big advocate of local charities.  I understand there are global issues, but I believe in helping the people in our area first,” Tripp said.

The “Seminole fan at heart” set off on her own path early, holding down a job while attending classes at Florida State University, where she earned a double major in marketing and real estate.  Eventually, she saved enough to pay for a five-month study abroad program in Spain.

An opportunity to work with Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery brought her back to the Bay area, she said. When the real estate market took off, she stepped in to help her family’s residential construction business as the director of sales and marketing.

“Most recently I made the wonderful choice to start my own marketing agency, Latitude 27 Marketing,” Tripp said.

Tripp isn’t big on titles, she said. But she needed one. She dubbed herself “Creative Strategist” and got to work, providing full-service marketing solutions to businesses, with a focus on content marketing, social media, promotions and events.

“Traditionally, marketing is a broad word with a lot of gray answers. I have worked really hard to simplify what we can offer and to give more definitive pricing for potential clients,” Tripp said.

And she’s proving her prowess. Tripp recently was nominated for a Tampa Bay Business Journal Best in the Biz award for best local Public Relations/Marketing Professional in Tampa.

It’s an honor, she said.

“It sounds cliche, but my priority is for my clients to be happy and to run my business with integrity.  Those coupled with a smart business sense … all else will hopefully follow,” she said.

The nomination shows it’s working, she said.

“Watching positivity prevail makes me feel like things are right in the world.”

Tripp enjoys being a part of the community, lending her hand as a volunteer, speaking to groups and attending networking meetings to stay up to date with other local business owners. She also serves as the president of the Women of Wesley Chapel.

“Part of every job I have ever had has been community relations in some form.  I love it,” Tripp said.

Her advice to other local business owners:

“Get involved, have fun, and be genuine! In the beginning of every month, I go through community calendars and mark my calendar with meetings and events so that I can plan around them. We are all busy and will never make room in our schedules if we just try to go if we have time,” Tripp said.

Of course, we all wish we had just a bit more time. Tripp is no exception.

“I love art and if I had extra time, I would love to paint more,” she said.

Tripp will speak at an upcoming Working Women of Tampa Bay event, “Driven to Succeed: Become a Better Presenter.” The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 25. Check out the event’s Facebook page for more details and to R.S.V.P.
